James Hasson is an Associate Attorney in the firm’s personal injury practice.

Prior to joining Flynn Wirkus, James worked as a Trial Attorney at the Committee for Public Counsel Services, Massachusetts’s renowned public defender agency, and as a private criminal defense attorney. As a criminal defense lawyer, James represented clients in the trial courts on misdemeanor and felony charges. While at the Committee for Public Counsel Services, James served on the executive board of his union, was a member of the agency’s Health and Wellness Committee, and led local and national trainings for public defenders in workplace health protections.

Before becoming a lawyer, James was a member of Teamsters Local 25, setting up trade show booths in Boston’s convention centers, and served as a policy analyst for Mayor of Boston Martin J. Walsh, former Secretary-Treasurer of the Boston Building and Construction Trades Council and President of Laborers 223, and now former U.S. Secretary of Labor.

From 2022 to 2023, James served as the AFL-CIO appointed Rider Representative on the Pioneer Valley Transit Authority’s governing Advisory Board.
