Mike Flynn was recently asked to lend his expertise to a Buffalo Law Journal article on the subject of railroad industry safety standards. The discussion included, among other things, the topic of positive train control and other safety measures. The article entitled, “Despite Recent Derailments, Safety a Priority”, posits that while there are still significant accidents reported in the media, the railroad industry as a whole has been made decidedly safer due to increased regulation and safety requirements. In explaining the positive strides the railroad industry has made over the years, Mike affirmed his devotion to his work and stressed that the ”industry is comprised of good corporate citizens providing an essential service in moving people and freight that builds, powers and heats our homes, the weaponry that protects the nation and more”.
